5. Conclusion

I wasn’t able to find much evidence so it is really hard for me to believe the tales.
Although some of the stories I have heard about vampires are amusing, entertaining, and some crazy, I don’t buy any of it, I’d have to see a real vampire face to face or else I will forever believe they are nothing but a mythological creature that comes to life more then ever on Halloween and movies.

4. Evidence

You would think a story as old as vampires and Count Dracula someone would of found some evidence that they are real but no one ever has. There are people out there who claim they are vampires they are also still living in their parent’s basement or people like Elizabeth Bathory who actually go out and cause harm to others because they dive in so deep in their beliefs that they feel its right to harm others. When in reality it’s a mental problem that they are dealing with in my opinion. This is all just what I have picked up from TV shows, Movies, Bram Stokers Dracula novel and Wikipedia’s help of course. Whatever evidence I find its not a strong enough source that would convince either of us that vampires are real.

3. Stories

Legend goes no vampire could ever exist with out the one who created him or her, “the original”, “The King”. Once the original vampire dies they all die, some know him as count Dracula. Like every legendary story it has its different twist depending on who’s telling it. This story was developed after a past 15th century Romanian general and Wallachian Prince Vlad III the Impaler. Bram stokers is the founder of Dracula with his novel he took vampires to a whole new level.  Every one in Europe would describe vampires as a dead corpse almost zombie look a like until Bram Stokers turned what was once a hideous image into an elegant welcoming one that would invite you in with every word that would fall off their lips. Dracula originated from Transylvania the powers he possessed are super human strength, speed and the ability to shape shift at will to a bat, wolf, dog, fog, blood being the only thing keeping him alive and rejuvenating him. Another special power he posses which is said to be the most important is that he can turn other humans into vampires by just feeding on them and making them feed on him. His power does weakened by sunlight although some stories out there say vampires burn in daylight Count Dracula is that exception. For there are many ways to injure and keep away vampires there is but one way to kill them. Decapitate them and impalement him through the heart with a wooden spear. That sounds like a lot of work if you ask me, that’s why I only mind my own business.
There is one individual who I found very odd and her name is Elizabeth Bathory she has been label the most prolific female serial killer in history. She would kill multiple young virgins over 650 victims to just bathe in their blood so in what she thought would preserve her youth. Dont worry though she's dead now.

2. Background

For those who don’t know, a vampire is a blood-sucking demon that lives and depends on a human’s blood to survive. Their main weakness is sunlight and the myth that they exist has been around for ages. Where did it all start though?
Well, some say vampires have existed since the prehistoric era but in the 18th century in Eastern Europe Vampires became the talk of the town and the word spread to Greece, Romania after that. Although there are many different stories and twist about them which has me puzzled on what to believe. I have built my own theory as well, I'm not saying it’s a very precise one but it’s the little pieces I have summed up from all the vampire TV shows, movies, stories and research I’ve heard, watched and read through out my life. There are objects that are harmful to vampires and some to keep them away like garlic for example. A branch of wild rose and hawthorn plant, crucifix, rosary or holy water is supposed to harm them. It’s said that vampires are unable to enter consecrated grounds and they cannot enter a house or building unless invited in. Once they are invited in they are welcome to come and go as they please. Not really sure where mirrors came in the pictures but vampires don’t have a reflection or a shadow because they have no soul.  I hope this background about the blood sucking demons fills everyone out there with curiosity and excitement as we dive into deeper waters about them.  As my next post we will go into detail with all the urban stories. Stay tuned and watch out for those vampires while trick or treating!

1. Proposal

Vampires

To me Vampires have been one of the biggest mysteries out there. It might be to a lot of people considering all the TV shows, movies, and books out there about them. But what is it about them that lures the crowd in, is it that they can take the form of human and blend in? Are they half human half demon? Are they all evil? Do they burn in sunlight or just shine? I am sure there are a million more questions about them that I will be setting out to find in the next couple of weeks. If there are any other individuals out there who have wondered about these mystical creatures I suggest to them to grab a comfortable seat and a bag of buttery popcorn and enjoy this journey as I set out to discover the truth. Hopefully in the end we will have some answers to sooth our curious mind and soul.
